The difference
Hosts pay no booking commission and receive their host amount in full. A guest cost contribution of 6.9% of the host amount is already included in the displayed total. It contributes to payment processing, refund handling and payment loss costs.
Take a simple example: an owner who wants to earn ₱71,248 for a week.
| What each platform takes | Airbnb | Booking.com | BookNoFees |
|---|---|---|---|
| Host booking commission | 15.5% | 15%–25% | 0% |
| Payment processing & protection | included | contract-specific | 6.9% |
| Owner keepson a ₱71,248 listing | ₱60,204 | ₱53,436–₱60,561 | ₱71,248 |
| Guest paysfor ₱71,248 to reach the owner | ₱84,286 | ₱83,788–₱94,973 | ₱76,164 |
Over 18 weeks let, that is more than ₱142,496 a year in this example — money that stays with the guest or reaches the owner.
Rates checked in September 2026. Under its single-fee structure, Airbnb charges most hosts 15.5%; Airbnb says other hosts typically pay between 14% and 16%. Exceptions depend on country and account type. Booking.com sets the commission rate in each accommodation agreement, and visibility programmes may increase it. This worked example uses a possible range of 15% to 25%. If Booking.com facilitates payment, the applicable payment terms and transaction cost are contract-specific. Our 6.9% cost contribution is included in the displayed total and contributes towards Stripe payment fees and refunds. Nothing is added at checkout and nothing is deducted from the owner. Fee models can change, so please check each platform’s current terms. Sources: Airbnb Help Center and Booking.com General Delivery Terms.

About Saint-Malo
Saint-Malo sits on the north coast of Brittany at the mouth of the Rance estuary, where the Emerald Coast begins its run west toward Cap Fréhel. The walled city, Intra-Muros, was built on a rocky island and is tied to the mainland by the Sillon, a dyke that also carries the town's longest beach. It was the home port of corsairs such as Surcouf and Duguay-Trouin and of Jacques Cartier, who sailed from here to Canada; most of it was flattened in August 1944 and rebuilt in granite through the 1950s, so the streets inside the ramparts are old in plan and postwar in fabric. A walk along the top of the walls takes in the harbour, the beaches and the offshore forts. The tides are among the largest in Europe, and at low water you can cross the sand to Fort National and to the Grand Bé, where Chateaubriand is buried. Saint-Servan with the Tour Solidor, Paramé and Rothéneuf are the residential quarters along the shore, and Dinard is a ten-minute boat ride across the estuary. Direct TGVs from Paris take about two hours twenty minutes, and ferries run to Portsmouth, Jersey and Guernsey. Mont-Saint-Michel and the oyster town of Cancale make easy day trips. It suits couples and families who want beach, history and sea air in one place.
Good to know
May to September for beach weather and long evenings on the ramparts, with July and August the busiest. The big spring tides around the equinoxes in March and September are a spectacle in themselves, and even winter storms draw people to watch the waves break over the Sillon.
Not for the town itself: the TGV brings you to the station, Intra-Muros is car-free in practice, the MAT buses run along the coast and the seasonal boat crosses to Dinard. A car is the easiest way to reach Mont-Saint-Michel, Cancale and Cap Fréhel in a day.
Yes. The Sillon and Bon-Secours beaches are right below the walls, Bon-Secours has a seawater pool that fills with the tide, and the walk out to the forts at low water is an adventure for children. The coastal footpath runs east to Rothéneuf and Cancale for longer days on foot.
A great deal. The Grand Bé, Petit Bé and Fort National can only be reached on foot for roughly an hour and a half either side of low tide, and the sea comes back quickly, so check the tide table before you set off. A French flag flying over Fort National means it is open.
Choose a Saint-Malo holiday home and message its host through BookNoFees. For a booking request, Stripe first places a card hold for the full amount; the host has 48 hours to accept, and only then is the amount captured. Instant Book is charged immediately after Stripe confirms payment.
BookNoFees deducts no commission from the amount set by the host. The displayed total includes a 6.9% guest fee on the host price, covering payment processing, refund handling and payment risks. Nothing is added at checkout.
