Aquar'aile occupies the fourth floor of a building on rue Jean Moulin, giving its dining room a broad view across Calais beach and the sea. Ships moving through the strait become part of the backdrop, and the English coast can be visible when conditions are clear. The elevated setting is the restaurant's most immediate distinction, but its menu gives visitors several ways to shape a meal beyond the view. French cooking forms the base, with seafood sharing space with meat dishes and seasonal accompaniments. The published menu includes oysters in different sizes, a prawn salad with crunchy vegetables and coriander dressing, and duck foie gras with peach and ginger chutney and brioche. Tomato with burratina and basil oil offers a different beginning, while melon and watermelon gazpacho brings fruit, verbena and lime into a savoury course. Main dishes range from crisp fish and chips with homemade tartare sauce to roasted sea bass prepared in a Basque style with fregola.
