Gasthof Thiendorf – Zum treuen Freund

Gasthof Thiendorf, also called Zum treuen Freund, is a country inn on Kamenzer Straße with a menu built around familiar German meals. It is a close option for visitors staying around Schönfeld who want a seated meal in a neighbouring village. The business also operates a pension, but the restaurant has its own published menu and opening schedule.

The selection covers both substantial dinners and simpler dishes. Schnitzel appears with several accompaniments, alongside roast pork, beef roulade with red cabbage, game and filled chicken breast. For a smaller or less formal meal, the menu includes Strammer Max, fried eggs with potatoes and Bauernfrühstück. Baked Camembert and Würzfleisch are listed among the starters.

Fish choices include pollock and pike-perch with dill sauce and parsley potatoes. Children have a separate chicken-and-fries option, and the menu says that several alternative side dishes can be requested. Ask about the current availability of individual dishes, particularly game or asparagus, rather than assuming every seasonal ingredient is served throughout the year.

The weekly timetable varies noticeably: Tuesday is evening only, Wednesday to Friday has separate lunch and dinner periods, and Saturday is listed for lunch. Monday is closed. The address is 10 Kamenzer Straße; telephone or email the inn to confirm your intended meal time before travelling, especially for a weekend evening.
