Körnergarten

Körnergarten is a traditional riverside inn on the Loschwitz side of the Blaues Wunder. It has operated since 1877, when the ferry landing outside gave it an earlier name, Gasthaus zur Fähre. The Buchbach family took over in 1997 and now runs it in a second generation. That history makes the location more than a convenient place to stop: the restaurant has remained here through the change from river ferry to road bridge.

The food follows a modern Saxon direction, bringing established regional dishes together with changing ideas. Seasonal selections revolve around ingredients such as asparagus, young herring and chanterelles. The restaurant's menu is used indoors, on the terrace and in the beer garden, and includes separate sections for fish, vegetarian choices and children's dishes. Check the current selection rather than assuming a seasonal special is available all year.

The large beer garden faces the Elbe, while the restaurant offers an indoor alternative. A riverside meal can fit naturally into a walk or cycle outing along the water. The house also organises special dining events and has an upstairs Elbzimmer for gatherings, so a regular table reservation and an event booking are different arrangements.

Find Körnergarten at 26 Friedrich-Wieck-Straße. It opens daily from 11:00, with later closing on Friday and Saturday, but kitchen hours end before the venue closes. Contact the team to reserve and verify the last food orders for your chosen day, especially if you plan to arrive in the evening.
