Konoba Riva

Konoba Riva has welcomed diners in Rab's old town since 1998. Traditional coastal cooking, a terrace and the surrounding stone streets give it a clear island setting. Its fairly broad menu makes it a useful option when a group wants seafood, grilled meat and a few straightforward vegetarian choices at the same table.

For fish lovers, the Riva platter combines fish, squid and prawns for two people. Individual dishes range from sea-bass or sea-bream fillets with chard to grilled tuna, mussels buzara-style and squid risotto. Seafood spaghetti is another option, while octopus prepared with tomatoes and spices offers a different texture and sauce. Starters include octopus carpaccio, salted fish, Dalmatian ham and Pag sheep's cheese.

The menu also has a dedicated vegetarian section with vegetable risotto, tomato pasta and fried courgettes. Children have smaller chicken, pasta and grilled-meat dishes. Those choosing meat can look towards grilled skewers, steak or a mixed platter. Rab cake, walnut pancakes and ice cream are among the desserts, so there are several ways to finish without ordering the same thing around the table.

Reservations are taken by telephone, which is also the route for discussing the restaurant's food delivery to the marina. That service may suit guests spending the evening aboard a boat; confirm the delivery point and timing when ordering. Diners visiting in person should use Ulica biskupa Draga 3. Card payment is accepted, and the published daily hours run from late morning to midnight.
