Norgerhout

Norgerhout is a restaurant and lunchcafé beside the Norgerholt woodland on Asserstraat in Norg. Its interior takes inspiration from the surrounding nature, with a warm, living room atmosphere that connects the dining experience to the forest outside. Lunch, dinner and drinks all form part of the offer, alongside arrangements for visitors exploring the woods.

The kitchen works with seasonal ingredients and offers both an à la carte selection and a chef's surprise menu. The autumn menu brings together game, fish and vegetables: game pâté comes with plums and brioche, venison tartare with roasted pepper and Parmesan, and woodland mushroom broth with bread. Main courses include pheasant with parsnip and Madeira, duck with sprouts and spinach, and a catch of the day with seasonal vegetables. Celeriac with vanilla and hazelnut and kohlrabi with apple syrup and macadamia provide vegetable centred alternatives. There are also spare ribs and a house burger.

Desserts follow the same seasonal direction, including dark chocolate with blackberry and tonka bean, or poached pear with almond and star anise. A cheese board offers another finish.

For a visit built around walking, Norgerhout combines coffee or tea and cake with a five kilometre woodland route, followed by a Dutch lunch selection. High tea brings sweet and savoury bites together and requires advance booking. A separate children's menu is available, while private rooms and tailored arrangements accommodate celebrations, meetings and meals for larger groups.
