Ristoro Sitten

Ristoro Sitten is a mountain refuge at 2,300 metres above Staffal, in the Monterosa Ski area, with Monte Rosa filling the view from the terrace. In winter it is reached on skis or with the Sant'Anna cable car from Staffal; in summer the cable car and a 4x4 shuttle bring walkers up, or it is a hike. Run by the Comola family's company, it works as two places in one.

At lunchtime it is a self-service with quick dishes, hot sandwiches and Aosta Valley plates for skiers and hikers; in the evening it becomes a restaurant with regional cooking, and on Saturdays in season a high-altitude dinner with a snowcat ride up after the lifts have closed. There is a wood-fired hot tub outside for those staying the night, and beds for anyone who wants to be first on the slopes.
