La Corderie sits on the Cité d'Alet peninsula in Saint-Servan, on the far side of the harbour from the walled town, with a terrace that looks across the estuary of the Rance to Dinard. The same family has run it for more than thirty-five years, and the kitchen has stayed with what the boats bring in: sole and bass from the bay, scallops in season, lobster from the tank, a fish soup that regulars order without opening the menu.
It is a quiet, unhurried place, better for a long lunch with the view than for a quick bite. Booking is wise for the terrace on a sunny day.
