Rates checked in September 2026. Under its single-fee structure, Airbnb charges most hosts 15.5%; Airbnb says other hosts typically pay between 14% and 16%. Exceptions depend on country and account type. Booking.com sets the commission rate in each accommodation agreement, and visibility programmes may increase it. This worked example uses a possible range of 15% to 25%. If Booking.com facilitates payment, the applicable payment terms and transaction cost are contract-specific. Our 3.9% cost contribution is included in the displayed total and contributes towards Stripe payment fees and refunds. BookNoFees earns nothing from it. Nothing is added at checkout and nothing is deducted from the owner. Fee models can change, so please check each platform’s current terms. About Costa Calma

Staying in Costa Calma

Costa Calma sits on the southern Jandía peninsula of Fuerteventura, in the municipality of Pájara, and grew from a 1970s resort development into one of the island's calmer, greener holiday bases. It is best known as the gateway to the vast Sotavento beaches: kilometres of pale sand backed by dunes, with a shallow tidal lagoon that fills at high tide. Steady Atlantic trade winds make this a world-class spot for windsurfing, kitesurfing and, increasingly, wing foiling, with schools clustered along the shore. The resort itself is low-key and spread out, suiting families and couples who want reliable sun, space to walk and easy beach access rather than nightlife. The climate stays mild year-round, though wind sports peak roughly from late spring to late summer. Fuerteventura Airport is around an hour's drive north, and while buses connect the main resorts, a hire car is genuinely useful for exploring quieter beaches and the wider south.

Good to know

Vacation rentals in Costa Calma — FAQ

What is Costa Calma best known for?

Its long sandy beaches on the Jandía coast, especially the Sotavento stretch with its tidal lagoon, and its reputation as a windsurfing and kitesurfing centre thanks to steady Atlantic trade winds.

How far is Costa Calma from Fuerteventura Airport?

The airport (FUE, near Puerto del Rosario) is roughly 65 km north, about an hour by car. A direct bus also runs, though it takes longer.

Do I need a car in Costa Calma?

You can manage without one, since the resort is walkable and buses link the southern resorts, but a hire car makes it much easier to reach quieter beaches, Morro Jable and the wider Jandía area.

Is Costa Calma good for families or couples?

Both. The calm, spread-out resort layout and gentle beaches suit families, while the wide open sands and relaxed pace also appeal to couples wanting a quieter base than the busier resorts.

What does booking direct on BookNoFees mean for my stay?

You can message the host before booking. If the host accepts, pay securely through the BookNoFees checkout and Stripe. The displayed total includes a 3.9% cost contribution for Stripe payment fees and refunds, and nothing is added at checkout.

Can I contact the Costa Calma host before booking?

Yes. BookNoFees connects you directly with the host, so you can ask about the exact location, beach access, parking or wind conditions before you confirm.
