The Costa del Sol — literally the "Coast of the Sun" — runs for roughly 150 kilometres along the southern edge of Andalusia, and it earns its name with some of mainland Spain's mildest, sunniest weather. Its gateway is Málaga, a real Andalusian city with a cathedral, a Moorish fortress and Picasso's birthplace, whose busy airport is among the country's largest and puts the whole coast within easy reach. When is the best time to visit the Costa del Sol?

How do I get to the Costa del Sol and get around?
Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport is one of mainland Spain's busiest and the main entry point, and a high-speed AVE train links Málaga to Madrid. Along the western coast, a commuter train and frequent buses connect the main resort towns, while a hire car helps for inland trips to Ronda or Granada. Is the Costa del Sol a good golf destination?
It's one of Europe's leading ones.
