Rates checked in September 2026. Under its single-fee structure, Airbnb charges most hosts 15.5%; Airbnb says other hosts typically pay between 14% and 16%. Exceptions depend on country and account type. Booking.com sets the commission rate in each accommodation agreement, and visibility programmes may increase it. This worked example uses a possible range of 15% to 25%. If Booking.com facilitates payment, the applicable payment terms and transaction cost are contract-specific. Our 3.9% cost contribution is included in the displayed total and contributes towards Stripe payment fees and refunds. BookNoFees earns nothing from it. Nothing is added at checkout and nothing is deducted from the owner. Fee models can change, so please check each platform’s current terms. About Lombok

Staying in Lombok

Lombok is the island just east of Bali that many travellers reach for when they want the same tropical beauty with fewer crowds. Its landscape is dominated by Mount Rinjani, a towering volcano whose multi-day trek climbs past a crater lake and hot springs to one of Indonesia's most rewarding summits. The south coast is the surf and beach heartland: laid-back Kuta Lombok is the base for a string of wide, scenic bays such as Selong Belanak, Tanjung Aan and Mawun, where consistent waves draw surfers and empty sand draws everyone else. On the west coast, Senggigi is the older resort strip with sunset views and a gentle nightlife, and it sits close to the harbours for boats out to the Gili Islands. Away from the beaches, Lombok holds tightly to its Sasak identity, with traditional villages, weaving and pottery, and a slower pace than its famous neighbour. It works well as both a destination in its own right and a stepping stone onward to the Gilis. Getting around is easy enough by scooter, hired car or ride-hailing app.

Good to know

Vacation rentals in Lombok — FAQ

How is Lombok different from Bali?

Lombok sits right next to Bali but is generally quieter and less developed, with fewer big resorts and a strong local Sasak culture. Travellers come for the same tropical beaches and warm sea with less of the crowding, plus the draw of Mount Rinjani and easy boats onward to the Gili Islands. It suits people who want a calmer pace.

When is the best time to visit Lombok?

Lombok has a drier season and a wetter season typical of the region, with the drier months bringing the most reliable beach and trekking weather and the busiest period. The wetter months are quieter and greener. Rinjani trekking in particular depends on conditions and can close in the wet season, so check the latest before planning a climb.

How do I get around Lombok?

Most visitors use a mix of scooter rental for short trips, hired cars or drivers for longer distances, and ride-hailing apps that operate in the main areas. Distances between the south coast, Senggigi and Rinjani are real, so plan travel time. Your host can advise the best option for reaching their property and the sights nearby.

Can I reach the Gili Islands from Lombok?

Yes — Lombok is the closest launch point for the Gilis. Public and charter boats run from harbours on the northwest coast such as Bangsal, and the crossing is short. Many travellers split their trip between a Lombok base and a few nights on the Gilis. Confirm current boat times locally, as schedules and sea conditions vary.

What does booking direct on BookNoFees mean for a Lombok stay?

You can message the host before booking. For a booking request, Stripe first places a card hold for the full amount; the host has 48 hours to accept, and only then is the amount captured. Instant Book is charged immediately after Stripe confirms payment. Do not transfer the booking amount directly to the host. The displayed total already includes the 3.9% cost contribution for Stripe payment fees and refunds.

Can I contact the host before I book?

Yes. You can message the host through BookNoFees before booking to ask about the property, arrival and local details. If the booking is accepted, payment is completed securely through the BookNoFees checkout and Stripe.
